WHAT IS A HOUSE PLAN?

A house plans are a set of construction drawing which specifies all the requirements of constructing a residential house. The construction specification may include construction materials, installation methods, house dimensions, the layout and the techniques of construction.
Considering the required information which should be included in a house drawing, there should be a good site plan which shows the place or the location where a house will be build. A good site plan should topographical data that will specify the slope of the land. It also outlines the driveways and the walkways, the easements, the setback requirements and the location of utility of services. One more important requirement of a house drawing is a floor plan. It will help to indicate windows and doors of the house, the rooms and all elements inside a house like water heaters, furnaces, plumbing fixtures and cabinets. A house drawing should also have front, rear and both sides elevation which gives a home its final exterior architectural appearance. The main purpose of Elevation is to specify the ridge heights of a house, roof pitches and also shows the final positioning fall of land. There is also a section that cuts through the dwelling which describes how the house will be constructed and also shows how the internal finishes will look like on completion.
Other additional information which should be provided by the house drawing include structural layout of the house, foundation plans which should show the dimensions and the locations for footing. All the plumbing fixtures and piping should be shown, locations of all outlets, switches, TV sockets and other electrical drawing. The roof plan should be provided, showing the pitch and framing. The interior walls drawing, details drawing like molding, build-in shelving and columns .Also the sub-floor plan should be provided to indicate the details of how this area should be constructed and also the show how services will be arranged.
